Essentials 1

Background for Practice from Sciences and Humanities

There is little that prepares you for a graduate program.  Nursing was always my comfortable place in life.  Confidence was not a problem.  Compassion is second nature.  Patience and knowledge were hard to find during this higher learning process.  Somehow, I found what I needed deep inside of myself and ran the race God intended for me to run.  Utilizing the knowledge of my instructors and the required reading helped to deepen my knowledge of neuroscience and biopsychosocial fields.

Comparing and Contrasting Erickson and Freud

This was not my first introduction to either Freud or Erickson, but it was a learning process to see them compared, side by side.

A Mother Learning About MS

One and a half years ago, I was learning about my daughter being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis while in school.  A PowerPoint presentation had to be developed concerning a disease process.  I took the opportunity to educate myself.

Cultural Influences with Men and Pregancy

With Roe V Wade being overturned this year, it is time to discuss how important men are to successful and safe pregnancies.  Understanding this information will help with any APRN practice.

Neuropsychopharmacology

This program has helped me feel more comfortable with the knowledge of neurotransmitters and which medications help and hurt those affected with mental illness.  This paper was from the beginning of the program.

Study Tool for Boards

This was a long-term project for neuropsychopharmacology.  It took a long time to put together, but it was so helpful for remembering medications.  This information will be a valuable tool while studying for boards.

BLS Certificate

American Heart Basic Life Support last updated 2022.  I have maintained this certification for 38 years.  Never has it lapsed since the first time it was completed in 1984.  The basics should be maintained for anyone in healthcare.
