ORGANIZATIONAL AND SYSTEMS LEADERSHIP

Exceptional care will start with great people but will be encouraged to continue by management that understands their own role.  Leaders have to be able to communicate, collaborate, negotiate, and delegate to those in their charge.  This all begins within knowing personal limits and having the humility to ask others for input in situations beyond their control.  Knowing where to insert different aspects of a personality and knowledge can be a difficult balance.

PMHNP Role in Substance Use Disorder Prevention

As a PMHNP, we know to start the prevention of substance use at a young age.  Children are exposed to environmental factors early and need to understand the consequences of their choices early.

Clinical Soap Note

Developing soap notes, on patients we are caring for, is not always easy.  It requires knowledge of how things operate in the real world.  This is an important role in the everyday documentation requirements of a PMHNP.

APRN Roles as Consultant

Each student had to breakdown one APRN role and present as a PowerPoint.  The goal was to research the role and write it up in a manner that other students had to determine which role was being described.

Psychotherapy Outcome Evaluation

Psychotherapy hours are the only requirement to sit for boards in the state of Tennessee.  This is a discussion board on how to manage a practice, patients, and responsibilities to us as APRNs when it comes to psychotherapy.
