Clinical Prevention and Population Health for Improving Health

Designing and applying information to improve how healthcare is delivered and understood by staff is important.  Helping to determine what is important to the different populations that will need mental health care.  King offered opportunities with clinical to develop and fine tune the skills for fulfilling this essential.  A once timid student transformed into a teacher to those that were not known previously.

De-escalating Psychiatric Patients

While in clinical, I was asked to develop a teaching tool for staff on how to handle patients that are becoming difficult to manage.

Managing Angry Family

This is a teaching tool developed for a psychiatric hospital on best ways to manage angry family members.  This was used as a monthly teaching guide for staff.

Depression and the Older Population

This was the first teaching tool developed from a 6 page write up on depression by one of the Unity preceptors.  The preceptor utilized this teaching tool for their Alzheimer's support group that meet at their facility.

Legal and Ethical Issues Related to the Elderly

This was a short paper regarding how the elderly face different issues in society.
