Master's Level Nursing Practice

Paving this path to the master's level nursing practice is not for the faint of heart. The responsibility that this degree will put upon a person should require difficulty. If it weren't difficult everyone would do it. King University PMHNP developed in me an attitude that there is little that I cannot learn if the effort is put forth. There has been a state of tenacity some forward during the program that will remain at the forefront always. My role as an advanced practice nurse has already shown itself to be much different than having been a registered nurse. The requirements for the new role can be taught but will not be understood completely until put into practice.
Case Study for Simulation Hours
This was a case study that was completed as an option to a portion of clinical hours. This case study was in depth and allowed how King taught the PMHNP students to develop a plan for a patient from beginning to end. Collaboration and patient safety was easily seen in the final format.

Medication for Addiction Treatment
Training for addiction treatment is important for any prescriber. The program had some exceptional information on how to treat every person with dignity. They emphasized that those with addictions will fail, and this should not be criticized or cause the patient to be left untreated. I felt proud to have learned from those in charge of this program on controlled medications and those that struggle with addictions.
